As anyone who knows me knows, my pug, beau, is my most prized possession and we do EVERYTHING together. Things tbat annoy me...I often walk my pug with my neighbor who also has an incredibly adorable dog, and I hate it when people say to his dog, "o he's sooo cute" and then say nothing about the obvious cutenss of my pug! I am sure he hates it when the opposite occurs as well. I think this is just plain rude! It's like complimenting one baby and ignoring the one next to it. ugh. show some respect to the pug people.

Who would've thought an indulgent sunday trip to my local cheese steak eatery would result in a celebrity spotting? ha. not this gal. 2 sundays ago i was casually paging through the new west elm catalogue, drooling over bedding with a gf, waiting in the seemly never-ending line at jim's steaks when low and behold....a swarm of teenage girls appeared! and who were they swarming you ask? luke wilson, in the flesh, in front of me. OMG. and i never noticed until the teenagers arrived.

he was taller then i envisioned, and not as well dressed as i hoped. in fact he looked just like us, like he rolled out of bed, found a sweater, and headed out for a cheese steak.

i must say he signed autographs, took pictures, and did not cut the line.

however, the plot thickens.....last friday evening during my evening juant out on the town, i began my journey towards rittenhouse iso sangria....i got an encounter with a full-out movie set on 16th and spruce, and was quickly escorted through the set to the next street.

the question is, is luke wilson living in my neighborhood?

god i hope so....

here's to bumping into luke at my local coffee shop!

Could it be true that The Eagles were really making a premonition about Facebook.com in their legendary lyrics to "Hotel California?" According to the NY Times, it is almost impossible to cancel your Facebook membership, due to the fact that the site keeps alleged "indefinite" records of all accounts. Apparently the main problem with all this is that people can still contact you via e-mail through your "de-activated" Facebook account. Frightening. If only I read the fine print when I signed up. At least now I know never to try and delete my account, as I will be eternally haunted by wall postings past. Damn.....it makes you wonder where else you can be "stalked" via old internet activity.

this is a problem every woman has, the problem is stockings, panty hose, nylons, or whatever else you have termed these archaic torture devices. however, the reality is that at some point or another we all wear them. i for one like the opaque variety, but i'm usually limited to the basic colors of black or grey due to the total lack of options at my local target. to my great surprise dailycandy sent me an e-mail this am with a link to "we love colors," this site is fantastic! now you can get tights in any color you could ever have desired! i know its not exactly professional, but it sure is fun......and seriously next time you want to be a bumble bee or little red riding hood or something for halloween, or god knows what else you need colored tights for, you now know wear to go www.welovecolors.com, to meet all your nylon needs.

today is a very important day as it is the last day of the year and in my mind has limitless potential for change and growth in everyone's life. this year i have given great thought to my new year's resolution and have decided it will not be of the traditional "losing weight" or "no more over-spending" variety, but a resolution of a more important nature with more life altering results. i have decided to purge myself of the "toxic relationships" in my life that have done nothing for me this year but cause me great heart ache and thus in turn have inhibited my growth as a person. i think that many people only associate the toxic relationship as a romantic one, but the truth is they come in all forms, including family. in fact, i believe that such a toxic relationship with a family member is by far the hardest to sever or even try to mend.

however, it has been my experience in this life, that your success (not just financial) is directly influenced by your mindset which in turn in directly influenced by those both negative and positive around you.

oprah did a show on this very topic, specifically on how to confront those with which you have toxic relationships, and how to mend or sever them. it's worth a look at the article if you find yourself in this type of relationship with someone.

as for me, i am banishing the toxic relationship that has been draining the positivity from my life and working towards positivity and love in 2008.
